Acupuncture
Acupuncture has been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine to treat women’s health issues, and it is becoming increasingly popular as a complementary therapy for infertility in Western medicine.
What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that involves the insertion of thin, sterile needles into specific points on the body to stimulate healing and promote balance.
How can acupuncture help?
Osteopaths use a variety of manual techniques, such as manipulation, massage, and stretching, to improve how your body moves.
Our Acupuncturists in Clapham are specifically interested in women’s health, helping women with concerns such as:
- Fertility Issues
- Gynaecological conditions
- Stress
- Reducing fine lines and wrinkles
If at all you’re unsure if acupuncture can help you, give us a call!
What can I expect?
At your first appointment your acupuncturist will ask you questions about your pain, lifestyle and medical history. This is part of our assessment.
Based on the assessment, we’ll create a treatment plan with you.
During the acupuncture treatment itself, you will typically lie down on a table or sit in a chair while the acupuncturist inserts the needles into the targeted points. The needles are very thin and typically cause little or no discomfort, although you may feel a slight tingling or warmth in the area where the needle is inserted.
Lastly, we may recommend some simple lifestyle or diet changes to support your overall health and well-being.
